When zoom camera wanted?

Fixed focal length lenses are all right for locations where the area we wish to view is only a few metres square. However, as soon as we attempt to view a larger expanse such as a car park or shopping mall, then the limitations of a fixed lens become patently obvious. Zoom lens will solve the problem though it is more expensive equipment. Moreover, a zoom lens with various field of view is lost meaning unless the lens is motorized and can be operated from control room remotely.
