There are many approaches from experience to set PIR motion detector pet immune, however, they cannot totally eliminate the happening of false alarm

1. adjust the angle and height of the detector installation so as to avoid your pet fall into the detected area - lowest cost, may be effective depends on the kind of pet inside
2. adjust the sensitivity of sensor - not all available
3. use so-called pet-immune sensors (some with a chipset claimed with internal pet-immune logic) - there are too many, still want to trial and verify
4. using dual PIR motion detector - more expensive, but probably still need to adjust the position, if both pir detect pet, still alarm
5. using dual tech motion detector with both microwave and PIR - expensive and basically all wired, limited to use if you want wireless
