Everyday in the USA, 2,400 people are assaulted (FBI). There are many ways to defend yourself; lethal and non-lethal. The problem with non-lethal versions is they require the attacker to be within 1-15 feet, too close for comfort if you are a women or elderly, especially if the attacker is over six feet tall and there are more than one. There is a new product called the Avurt IM-5 that offers the firepower of a pistol, in a non-lethal, consumer friendly product that won't kill the attacker.
